| I've
been in love with Great Danes since I brought home my Hannah in 1995. She was a beautiful merle with the sweetest face
and nicest of temperaments. Hannah was the absolute perfect family
Dane, not just a dog but a beloved member of our family. She went
everywhere I went and just loved everyone! Hannah thought every
visitor to our home must be here to see, pet and play with her.
Sadly, Hannah passed over the Rainbow Bridge on July 7th 2005. I
still miss her.
I started with Great
Dane rescue and after 4 years I realized there were not many reputable
breeders in Michigan and that's when we decided we wanted to raise
these beautiful animals. One thing led to another and now we have
a complete kennel (heated & air conditioned of course!). Danes
are my hobby, we do not use them to make as living as some do. I
work full time as an office manager at an insurance company and
my husband, John, works at an auto dealership. Our two teenage sons,
Collin and Kent, are actively involved with our dogs as well going
to school and playing in sports. Needless to say, we have a very
busy household. But we will only breed a litter when we are able
to devote 100% to their upbringing.
We have a year round
health program that was designed by our veterinarian Dr. Jamie Snow.
Our Danes have regular checkups and are on a strict heartworm, flea
program and deworming schedule year round in order to prevent bugs
and parasites.
I also believe food plays
a major roll in the total health of a Dane. We feed a super premium
food - while it costs more to purchase initially, it is really less
expensive long term. The dogs eat less and are able to better digest
the food ingredients. We currently feed Eagle Pack, Exceed and Blue Buffalo.
Our puppies are placed
in approved homes at 8 weeks of age and we are very strict with
spay/neuter contracts. We require they be raised in doors and never
tied out to a dog house. Both obedience & crate training are
highly recommended. We also give a 2 year written health warranty
and lifetime breeder support. Lastly, if for any reason you are
unable to keep a puppy purchased from us, we will always welcome
him/her back in to our home and family.
